The MBS Face - we show our FACE
Our company’s personality is displayed in our logo. It presents
the company to the outside world, and stands for our values and
convictions. The logo puts a FACE to the name. Anyone who wants
to be recognised by their customers must show their FACE. MBS
does that - in the truest sense of the word!
How we started to become what we are: MBS Logistics has lived
through several stages of development over the past 30 years, and
consistently developed our own identity to become today what the
founders Manfred Bischoff and Bernd Wilkes always imagined: a
strong, high-performing company with character - self-confident,
with integrity and always ready to meet customers’ requirements.
MBS: The company’s name is made up of the first names of the
founders, Manfred and Bernd, plus the name of the industry (in
German “Spedition” - freight forwarding).
Logo 1987–2000: Childhood
The logo we had when the company was started did not yet reflect
a fully-formed character. Our “enterprise” was simply too young,
not yet mature enough. Alongside the first important task of building
up daily business, we focused initially on a logo which was
intended to highlight our special performance strength quite pragmatically.
At the time, this meant speed, reliability and persistence.
We wanted to show that these were not contradictions in terms,
and that we could provide something extraordinary - like a tortoise
in speed mode! The flames in the picture and the text indicated at
the same time power, ambition and passion.
Logo 2000–2012: Youth
After 13 years, MBS was moving up a level. The core business was
running, and we were able to concentrate on our awareness of the
personality of the company. Which is what we did. We started to
discover ourselves. We recognised who we are - namely, above all
else, a “We!” - and also who was behind our successes to date -
the “We!”: we draw our strength from community. Our team is the
beating heart of the enterprise - the prime movers of success. It
was this knowledge that gave rise to the “MBS Face”. It stands
for every individual one of our employees. Together they form the
character of the company. And because this is so strong, and we
are convinced of our own ability, no member of MBS is ever afraid
to show their FACE. The little red squares in the word “Logistics”
indicate movement and networking, and were the symbols of a
perfect supply chain.
Logo 2012-today: All grown-up
Development of the logo went along with the development of our
values - our self-perception grew. But as we still stood by the idea
of our logo, in 2012 it was only optimised, not changed. We extended
the meaning of the FACE and therefore strengthened it. The
FACE logo has since then also stood for every individual customer
we have, and the relationships we have with them, which we cultivate
closely, personally and individually. We make direct and open
contact with them, FACE to FACE. We offer individual, specifically
tailored and also unconventional logistics solutions (if that is what is
required) - always the right thing for the individual customer.
What connects us to our customers? A common goal, a common
journey, a common experience - so a collective FACE.
